The Class and Component Prices are calculated using the most recent four or five weeks (since the last monthly Announcement of Class and Component Prices) from the latest National Dairy Products Sales Report (NDPSR). These prices are published on or before the 5th of each month. This report contains prices per pound or hundredweight for Federal milk marketing order components for Class II, III, and IV dairy products and applies to all milk received during the previous month.
Federal statute (7 USC 1637b) requires USDA to collect and release dairy product sales information for butter, cheddar cheese, dry whey, and nonfat dry milk, no later than 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday of each week (unless affected by a Federal Holiday).
