This quarterly report examines the annual US international agricultural trade. A global economic outlook is provided with an emphasis on the effect on U.S. economy and trade. Imports and exports over the past fiscal year are analyzed on a commodity basis as well as on a regional basis. Importation and exportation forecasts are provided as well as an analysis on the accuracy of past forecasts.

The annual reports in this series analyze the forces that are affecting agriculture and the agricultural economy in selected regions and trade areas. Analysis includes short- and long-term projections for production, consumption, and trade of key commodities in the selected areas. Regions and topics covered vary yearly and can include the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Western Hemisphere, China, Asia, the European Union, the former Soviet Union, etc. Topics covered also vary yearly and correspond to significant events or trends in the agricultural sector.

Seven categories of agricultural materials are covered, including: starches and carbohydrates, fats and oils, natural fibers, animal products, forest products, natural plant products, natural rubber, and resins.
