This report provides an outlook on domestic and global sugar production, use, and stocks. Annual domestic production of sugar is estimated for the current year, forecasted for the next fiscal year and compared with annual sugar use and annual importation. International production and use of sugar (especially that of Mexico's) is also estimated for the current year and forecasted for the next year. International imports and exports are estimated on a country by country basis, with analysis for notable policy changes. Also included are international and global ending stocks of sugar and how they measure against production and use.

This monthly report provides the current USDA forecasts of U.S. and world supply-use balances of major grains, soybeans and products, and cotton; and U.S. supply and use of sugar and livestock products. Historical WASDE Crop Estimates (Lotus Notes Formats through 1995).

NOTE TO USERS

Previously, corrections to the WASDE report were reposted to the OCE and Cornell’s MANN Library websites under the same file name. However, starting in January 2020, if the WASDE report is reposted to correct an error in the tables or text, the file name (for all four file formats) will be changed to reflect that there is a new version, and an errata statement will be included in the file and posted on the OCE website to describe the change. For example, the name of the December 2019 WASDE is “wasde1219.xxx” If a revision were necessary, the corrected file would be posted as “wasde1219v2.xxx” If another revision was necessary, the next file would be posted as “wasde1219v3.xxx,”etc.

This monthly report includes data on U.S. imports of raw and refined sugar under World Trade Organization tariff-rate quotas, free trade agreements and the Sugar Re-export Program.

This biannual report, published in May and November, includes data on U.S. and global trade, production, consumption and stocks, as well as analysis of developments affecting world trade in sugar.

This handbook identifies the usual planting and harvesting dates on a state by state basis for United States field crops covered in the National Agricultural Statistics Service's National program of crop estimates. It updates the information contained in the previous edition of this handbook which was issued in 1997.

The Field Offices of the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service compiled the basic information and prepared the estimates of usual dates based on historical crop progress estimates and the knowledge of industry specialists.

ERS ceased publication of the Sugar and Sweeteners Yearbook in report format in 2005. The yearbook tables are available in spreadsheet format from the Sugar and Sweeteners Briefing Room data page on the ERS website. This archived report contains data on U.S. and world data on acreage, yield, and production of sugar crops; production, trade, supply and use, and prices for sugar; and supply and use data for caloric and noncaloric sweeteners.

Agricultural Outlook (AO) ceased publication in December 2002. A new magazine, AmberWaves, replaced Agricultural Outlook, FoodReview, and Rural America in February 2003. This archive contains AO publications covering commodity markets and trade, farm policy, and other food- and agriculture-related topics. Each release includes data on individual commodities, farm income, the general economy, agricultural trade, and related issues.

Commodity and trade outlook data and information continue to be available on the ERS website. Additional commodity- or topic-specific information may be found in ERS Briefing Rooms.

This archived dataset does not contain recent data or information. Includes U.S. data on corn sweetener supply and use, prices, trade, and deliveries to domestic users by type of use during the period 1970-92. Includes data for high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), dextrose, and glucose supply and use. Last published November 1993.

This publication provides information about the production and distribution of sugar from 1951 to 1991. Domestic stocks held by U.S. primary distributors and the imported sugar by U.S. cane refiners is included, as well as the use and disposition of the sugar product. The publication was discontinued in November 1991 and the information covered in this publication was continued to be covered in the Sweetener Market Data publication.

This archived dataset does not contain recent data or information. It includes U.S. beet and cane sugar statistics, including sugar production and consumption from 1950-90; imports and exports from 1970-90; and prices from 1960-90. Also includes regional and State data on sugar beet, sugarcane, and sugar production, 1970-90.
