This report contains the results of two independent surveys of growing and packing practices of fruits and vegetables. Growers were surveyed on field environment, agricultural water, organic fertilizers, harvest-field operations, harvest workers, and trace back systems. Packers were surveyed for information pertaining to packing workers, field packing, facility packing, and trace back systems. Almost all data in the report is presented in the form of percent of the total (grower or packer) population. Grower data is presented in "Percent of Farms" reporting an agricultural practice and the "Percent of Acres" on which this practice is applied, while packer data is presented in "Percent of Packers" and "Percent of Volume."

This release includes statistics for on-farm use of fertilizers, agricultural chemicals and pest management practices from producers of targeted vegetable crops in 19 states. The chemical use estimates focus on acreage treated with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other pesticides for selected vegetable crops. Information for fruit is collected in odd numbered years, while vegetable information is collected in even numbered years. Beginning in May 2010, NASS agricultural chemical use data are published to the Quick Stats 2.0 database only (full-text publications have been discontinued), the latest data releases are available under the NASS Chemical Usage Program.

Agricultural Outlook (AO) ceased publication in December 2002. A new magazine, AmberWaves, replaced Agricultural Outlook, FoodReview, and Rural America in February 2003. This archive contains AO publications covering commodity markets and trade, farm policy, and other food- and agriculture-related topics. Each release includes data on individual commodities, farm income, the general economy, agricultural trade, and related issues.

This publication reports on the alfalfa seed production by state, including area harvested, yield per acre and production of total clean seed. Total carryover is provided, as well as projected forecasts in supply.

This bulletin presents the number of cars for fruit and vegetable shipments billed during the calendar years 1920 to 1936, from every station handling 10 or more cars in any one year. Data is reported by state, county, and shipping point, or by city, and some by state of origin.

This monthly publication was produced between 1976 and 1992. Data on plantings, yields and harvest are included in each release. Following the December 1992 release, celery data was included in the quarterly Vegetable reports.

This publication was produced by the Bureau of Agricultural Economics and reports on the acreage, yield, and production of commercial truck crops for the fresh market from 1944 to 1952. The reports and data within this series were furnished by crop correspondents, field statisticians, and cooperating state agencies.

This publication presents data on the acreage, yield and indicated production of important crops. It also includes a general summary of prospective plantings for coming months, as well as stocks of both foreign and domestic supplies.

This publication reports on acreage, yield per acre, cost of production, market movements, prices to producers and domestic and foreign supplies of corn and corn products. This data is reported for years 1800 to 1926. Corn futures are also reported here with information provided on the volume of trading at select US markets, open commitments, and prices. This futures data is reported for years 1921 to 1929 and 1933 to 1935.

The dry bean datasets include area, yield, production, price, and value information by state and dry bean production by class and state, as well as various indexes.In addition, per capita disappearance, world area, production, price, and export and import volume information is also included. The data tables are in .xls format and are downloadable either separately or collectively in a .zip file.

These tables include the majority of the known published data on U.S. dry peas and lentils, as well as some chickpea data, though the USDA formally groups chickpeas with dry edible beans. Information on U.S. acreage, production, monthly and weekly prices, crop value, supply. per capita use, and import and export statistics are contained in this dataset. World area, production, and import and export volumes are also included. The data tables are in downloadable in .xls format.

This publication provides information about the production of potatoes and major stocks for each potato-producing state in the U.S. This publication follows the previously titled Potato Stocks and Production.

This publication provides information about a winter freeze that occurred in Florida in January 1964. Data is included on the effects of the freeze on snap beans, cabbage, celery, sweet corn, cucumbers, lettuce and escarole, peppers, potatoes, radishes, strawberries, squash, tomatoes, watermelons, sugarcane, and citrus.

This report provides information about Hurrican Inez, which struck on October 4th, 1966, and the damage sustained by Florida crops as a result. The report mainly covers Dade County where the storm primarily made landfall along the county, but damage sustained by crops in Pompano, Northwood, Ft. Myers-Immokalee, and the Everglades are also reported. The crops included in this report are avocados, limes, vegetables, tomatoes, pole beans, cucumber, okra, eggplant, beans, and peppers. Forecasts by growers on crop loss and/or recovery is also included.

This special report provides an aggregation of weather data and trends for seven crops by region and selected states, for the years 1866-1948. The data presented may aid those looking to explore the effect that yield variety has on commodity marketing and pricing.
